On Monday we headed to Whistler, BC for Christmas. Last year we decided we did not want to spend another Christmas in Seattle with all our family in Boston.
It took about 6 hours to get there. We waited at the border for about an hour and 20 minutes. We also made a stop at Walmart to get some food.
Christmas Eve I got up early and ran 4 miles. Then we all went to explore the Village.
We had a great lunch at the Amsterdam Pub. I had an amazing chicken pot pie and salad.
We then when up to the Sliding Center. Larry took the Skeleton, down the track. None of the rest of us are crazy enough to do that.
We headed out for an early dinner. We went to Caramba’s, which a recommendation of my friend Jamie’s. It was very good.
They also had apple pie, which is my second favorite dessert. My sister, Pam makes the best apple pie. This one looked amazing, but tasted more like apple strudel, with raisins in it and the crust was like a crepe.
The village looks great at night.
Christmas morning Larry, Hannah and Emily headed to the slopes. I ran 8 miles through town. It was a good run, but harder than I though.
We then had a great Christmas dinner at Trattoria de Umberto which was expensive but fantastic!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas filled with good food, family and fun.
