On Saturday Hannah and I headed out to the Mustache Dache. It is a 5k to support men’s health. I know a lot of twitter friends ran it last year and had good things to say about the race. Hannah also liked that she would get a medal and shirt.
The race was at Magnuson Park in Seattle and started at 10am. There was plenty of parking. We went to pick up our bibs about 9:10 and they had no pins left. Big time fail. Lauren was volunteering at the registration booth and brought my Ragnar baton.
We walked around the few booths, then headed back to the car. I had 4 pins in my car, Score!
We pinned on our bibs and headed to the start. It was about 45 and partly sunny. There were corals, but no one was really using them. While we were waiting we ran into Andrea who I had met at Ragnar. It was nice to have someone to chat with before the start.
The race started a few minutes late. It was super crowded and on a narrow path for the first half mile. I was hoping for a PR but didn’t quite make it 25:16.
Hannah finished a bit behind me. Over all a good race. Plenty of water and food at the finish although you had to find it. If it grows at all next year, 2000 runners this year, I think they need wave starts or a different course.
